Bags by Betty was founded by Betty Dubuc Ritt in 2003 through a desire to change careers and fulfill a lifetime dream. With a passionate interest in textiles, and over 40 years of sewing experience, she launched a fledgling business in Marblehead, Massachusetts, making handbags.

Her bags are embellished with decorative closings, and a variety of handles. They are as beautifully finished inside as they are outside. She endeavors to use only natural fibers—cotton, linen, silk and wool. Originally she used only fabrics manufactured in the U.S.A. but has expanded her collection to fabrics acquired in Canada, England, Spain, and France! Betty makes each and every handbag entirely by hand, with care.  They are all unique.

Selling by mail order, in boutiques and events, Betty’s Bags, now for the first time, are available on line. Handbags may be ordered in three sizes—small, medium and large—and in popular hobo configuration in small and large. Plus petite evening bags and wristlets. Select from a variety of fabrics in our on line store and expect delivery within two weeks. Compatible closings and handles will vary depending on your choice of fabric and size.

Happily turning out wearable art in her spacious studio, Betty has engendered countless fans who sport her stylish bags. Through commitment, experience, talent and expertise, Betty has established a flourishing business and made lasting relationships with her clients. Betty has found her calling.
